1978: I once had a girlfriend called Anne who wore 'Charlie' perfume. Every time we came close I sneezed. This was not conducive to a passionate affair. Her 'big' permed hair and 'page three' figure was always out of reach, until we discovered I was allergic to her bottled smell....later we discovered I was allergic to latex.Click here for printable images (under construction)
EDUCATION
2004-2006 Bristol University
2002-2003 Wolverhampton University

1974-1976 Stourbridge College of Art & Design
EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND:
In 2000 I made page 2 of the Financial Times with an Internet project www.inmemoryof.co.uk. After making headlines in the majority of the daily newspapers we embarked on a seminar tour aimed specifically at the funeral industry, this included giving a three-day series of lectures at the NEC in Birmingham. This introduced me to Venture Capitalists and the intriguing world of the corporate boardroom. My ‘Art School’ background enabled me to think my way around problems in a different way to traditional businessmen/women and this was one of the main factors in our (perceived?) success.
In the late 1980’s I took over the running of my family’s Monumental
Mason business, modernizing, introducing CAD and implementing uncomplicated
strategies and systems that empowered my staff to make more decisions, increasing
their input into the company. These simple steps lead to increased profitability
and eventually ‘fattened the business up’, enabling me to sell the
company in 1998. I had come to realize that running a monumental business often
meant the sacrifice of free time, and so by exploiting this fact I created a
company called Fockbury Stencils, providing a complete design service for the
Monumental Memorial trade. This proved to be highly successful.
